We are delighted to announce that Donal Ryan will be coming in on Tuesday the 12th of November as part of our I&E Speaker Series at 5.30pm in Q007, Quinn School of Business.

Donal is a Venture Capitalist with Finistere Ventures, a pioneering Venture Capital firm set up in the US. They allow entrepreneurs in Ag-Tech to lead the “green-revolution”.

Donal will be speaking about how he got into the space since leaving UCD and what future opportunities he sees in Venture Capital.

Citadel is proud to present The Data Open, a datathon competition where participants work in teams to work through a large and complex dataset and then present their findings to a panel of judges. If you are an individual who has a passion for tackling the most interesting and critical challenges that touch the global markets, then The Data Open is for you.

Bank of Ireland Global Markets FX Trade Off Competition

The Bank of Ireland FX Trade-Off Competition is back, with a new, sleek trading platform and lots of prizes including an internship in Bank of Ireland Global Markets and €2,000 cash for the overall individual winner, and €10,000 for the top performing society in Ireland. Learn about foreign exchange (FX) markets, test your skills and compete against other students by trading the global currency markets.

The competition is open to all students enrolled in third-level education in Ireland. Register online between September 30th and midnight on October 14th.

Register for I&E Student Managed Fund

The Student Managed Fund is now accepting applications for the 2019/20 academic year. I&E members are invited to apply for one of the three roles linked below (Investment Analyst, Macroeconomic Research Analyst, and Risk Analyst). Descriptions of the divisions and role responsibilities are included in the Google Forms below. The deadline for all applications is Midnight on Friday 27th September.


The Student Managed Fund is a student-run real-money investment fund. Its current assets under management stand at €25,000. Its purpose is to enable students to connect the academic theory of finance with real industry practice. Over the course of the academic year, members will get the opportunity to be involved in all stages of the investment process including fundamental company research, financial valuation and crafting investment theses.
