What information do we collect?

The UCD I&E Society will collect your name, student number and email address as provided by you upon joining the society.

Name: This includes your first and/or last name.

Student Number: We ask you to provide your student number so that we can extract information regarding your year of study and the faculty to which you belong.

Email: We will retain your email address for the purposes of adding you to our mailing list. We will then be able to update you via our weekly emails regarding our upcoming events, opportunities, etc. 


Why do we collect this information?

The UCD I&E Society collects the above information for the purposes of contact with our society members.

Name: For the purpose of personalising emails and for other reference points. These reference points include verifying your membership in the society during an event. This issue may arise in the occasion of a competition whereby you may be awarded a prize but your membership to the society must first be validated.

Student Number: Information regarding your academic year in University College Dublin and the faculty to which you belong is collected for statistical purposes. We aggregate this data to gather a breakdown of the society membership and cater our events accordingly.

Email: This is the primary point of contact for our society to our members. We require every member to provide this information upon joining the society.

Who we share this information with and why?

Personal details are not shared with any third parties. We ensure the privacy of our members and do not provide details upon request to other individuals or organisations. Information regarding your academics in University College Dublin (year and faculty) is aggregated anonymously and shared with our sponsors. This information an accurate estimate of the general membership of our society and is also shared with future sponsors to aid in their decision making.


Our members details are held for a single academic year and are released thereafter. If you wish, you may subscribe again to be part of the mailing list in the next term by contacting a member of the team, signing up on Fresher's week, or joining via the link provided on this website's homepage .

How long do we hold this information for?


No, our society does not transfer any of your information outside of the EU.

 

 

Do we transfer your information outside the E.U. or European economic area?


You have the right to request to be informed what information the UCD I&E Society hold about you and you have the right to have your information removed from our records. You can remove yourself at anytime from our mailing list by following the unsubscribe link provided in each email. Additionally, you may request that all your details be removed from our database by contacting a member of the team via our social channels

 

What are your rights with respect to your information?

All photos and videos captured at events and activities may be posted online without prior notice to the UCD Investors and Entrepreneurs Society Members.
